JULY MANTRA // RESPECT the Process

In The Queens Gambit, Beth becomes a chess prodigy—not because she’s chasing fame, but because she’s obsessed with the craft. She studies, trains, and loses many times before her breakthrough.

In fitness—and in life—every step counts.
Respecting the process isn’t just about showing up. It’s about embracing the journey, celebrating small wins, and trusting the daily rituals that quietly shape who we’re becoming.

Progress doesn’t happen overnight. You don’t become fit after three workouts. You don’t speak French after five classes. And as we live in a world where everything’s on-demand and comparison is everywhere. It’s easy tothink things should happen instantly.

But the truth? Real growth happens bit by bit. Brick by brick.

When you understand how the process works, you can flow with it—not fight against it. It’s slow, messy, and non-linear. But it’s always working—if you keep going.

So, how do we respect the process?

1. Focus on the WHAT feels good.

Ask yourself: What do I love about this?
For FYF, maybe it’s the sweaty buzz after class. Maybe it’s the group chat, the sass, or the structure of a morning routine.
Whatever it is, lean in. Your brain builds strong habits when it associates action with joy. So follow the fun.

2. Forget the goal. Focus on the adjustment.

Getting out of bed at 7am sucks.
Ten push-ups can feel impossible.
But what if your only goal is to set your alarm three times a week? That’s three out of five mornings. That’s momentum.
And ten push-ups? Go from your knees. Keep going from your knees. Enjoy it there. It still counts. Progress is progress.

3. Reframe the outcome.

It’s not what you want to achieve—it’s who you want to become.
Try this: Picture the version of you five years from now. Not thinner or smaller, but maybe:
Stronger. Calmer. More focused. Capable. Consistent.
Identity shifts start small—but they stick when you repeat them. Daily action → belief → transformation.

The goal isn’t to “be a size 10.”
The goal is to love and respect your mind and body, inside and out.
Not just once—but over and over again.

As you keep showing up, you don’t just do the workout—you become someone who moves.
You don’t just create change—you become the change.
We don’t evolve by snapping our fingers.
We evolve by repeating the reps.
Thirty minutes a day. Over time, your body does a quiet micro-evolution.

Beyond the Mat

The process applies everywhere, not just in our workouts. Take a step back and look at how things build up over time: Negative thoughts? They compound. Stress, anxiety, self-doubt? They compound. But so does joy, gratitude, resilience, and self-belief.

This isn’t a race. It’s a journey. And if we can shift our focus from “I’m not there yet” to “I’m in motion”, we begin to soften the self-judgment and enjoy the ride.

Even with FYF, I’ve had to remind myself of this. I started six months ago thinking I'd have 10 members by now. But this sh*t is harder than it looks. Building trust, figuring out tech, and trying new things—it takes time. Currently I am thinking of moving websites from Squarespace to WIX so I for better streaming and payment plans… Feels like we just got to here but as an entrepreneur its not about the end goal its about the process and figuring out what is going to work best. It’s been swings and roundabouts. Trial and error. Adjust, reflect, repeat.

I’m still learning. Still tweaking. Still showing up.
Because this is the process.
